Chicana por Mi Raza
I first encountered this digital archive when I attended the first Latino/a Studies Conference held in Chicago in 2016. There, a panel of BADASS Chicana scholars shared their work on the project, showing photos and playing video and audio recordings that can all be found on the website. The website is an incredible resource. Check it out. Chicana por Mi Raza: Digital Archive
For those studying Chicago Latinx history, you will find several resources including the Nancy delos Santos collection: Documenting the 1970s which includes incredible photos from Pilsen and Lakeview. Below, a photo from her collection that was taken at Mujeres Latinas en Accion. They appear to be watching film footage of the 1973 uprising at Froebel School, on 21st street at Damen. [I wonder where the film is now…]
One amazing feature of this digital archive are the visual interactive maps and timelines of Mexican American student activism, Chicana feminism and Chicano movement activity. Super easy to use! Be sure to check it out.
